Dave West


Director/Writer-marked his film directorial debut with his comedic short, Puddlejumper, which has won the festival award for 'Best Comedy'”at the Arizona International Film Festival, “'Audience Fusion Award'”at DancesWithFilms and “'Best Short'”at the Ft. Myers Beach Film Festival. Puddlejumper has traveled the globe screening in roughly fifty film festivals in six countries.

West began his career in Arizona - producing, directing and acting in multiple theatrical productions. His work won him 'Best Actor' of the 1990 American College Theater Festival. After attending New York's American Academy of Dramatic Arts, West worked in off-Broadway and off-off Broadway productions. Upon moving to Los Angeles, West worked on movies of the week, on the feature film God's Lonely Man and produced and directed theatrical productions. West was cast in Academy Award-winning director Ernest Thompson's The Westside Waltz, starring Liza Minelli and Shirley MacLaine.

Looking to expand his opportunities West switched to the other side of the camera. He produced the comedy short, Et tu and directed the comedy short, The Virginity Monologues. West also co-wrote, produced and starred in an independent television pilot, Day Guy, which recently won “'Best Pilot'”at the TV Pilot Festival.

West can currently be seen in the comedy feature film, BachelorMan, an award-winning favorite on the festival circuit. In addition to playing the part of Artie Spires, he produced and directed the “'Behind the Scenes' for the film.

West just completed, The Do Over, a film that he wrote and directed. The Do Over is a dramatic short film that explores the idea of change. Sometimes, change is permanent.”

His production company, Sandbox Pictures has recently optioned the last written work by Ben-Hur screenwriter, Karl Tunberg, which is being developed for a feature film. Sandbox Pictures is also busy prepping the feature script 'The Pick Up'.

He is also shooting Dave's Life, a one-year look into his own struggles and conquests at making it in the land of fruits and nuts, Hollywood.
